Rarely Seen Pyle National Model 80-200 Explosion Proof Light. This sconce style behemothindustrial light measures 10 inches and has a thicknine+ inch globe. While you may discount this light for it's lack of safety cage please allow for the fact this this glass globe is as large the entire cage on others equipped that way. Pyle National based in Chicago is famous for manufacturing train headlights dating back to the steam engine era. Some of those examples have sold for in excess of $3,000.00!!Many industrial lighting collectors feel these Pyle examples are the strongest best constructed industrial lights in the field. We aren't certain of the age of this glass but it was removed from a recent closed mill which opened in 1928.We crudely painted the unit with epoxy Appliance paint to looks like it could be the original.
